Budget Request 2019-2020
Detailed Decision Package
Public Works - Streets
Signal Maintenance Budget Increase
Increasing the annual budget for signal
maintenance.
Background
Prior to the summer
of 2018 the City had 9 traffic signals all of which are maintained through
interlocal agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation and/or Clark County.
Current situation
By the end of 2018
the City will have activated the signal at NW Fisher Drive and 38th
Avenue, assumed responsibilities for new signals at NW 16th Avenue
and Brady Road, and at SE Payne Road and Pacific Rim Boulevard, significantly
increasing regular routine maintenance needs.
Proposed solution
Increase the
maintenance budget for signals to provide adequate coverage for meeting routine
maintenance and inspection needs.
